FAMILY, FRIEND & NEIGHBOR (FFN)
The Family, Friend and Neighbor Program focuses on providing in-home childcare providers training and materials to care for children ages 0-5 years. The program is focused on grandparents and other family members taking care of children other than their own. Many children spend parts of the day with non-parent caregivers in informal home settings. Learn how you can better support the health, development and learning of the young children in your care through health and safety practices, educational activities and understanding more about child development. READING BY 3RD GRADE INITIATIVE
The United Way of Pinal County’s Reading by 3rd Grade Initiative, in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, provides children 0-5 years of age books on a monthly basis. The program is focused on giving opportunities to children in rural Pinal County communities with access to books that will help them improve their reading skills and the overall love for books. We all know that children learn how to read from 0-8 years of age. After that, the children read to learn. That’s why it’s so important to teach the love of books and reading at the child’s early age. United Way of Pinal County is committed to provide that opportunity to our children in Pinal County. Register your child HERE.

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE
The Transportation Assistance Program focuses on providing transportation options and repairs to aide Pinal County residents with getting to and from work. For those who are walking to work, this may mean receiving a new bicycle, helmet and lock to drastically reduce travel time and prevent loss of employment. For those experiencing a financial hardship when a vehicle breaks down, the Transportation Assistance Program offers a way to repair the vehicle to ensure our community members are not losing jobs and families have access to a working vehicle. When funding is available, applications for assistance can be found under the APPLY FOR HELP menu on our website.
