Volunteer For VITA 2013

Print PDF

Looking to make a difference for hard-working individuals and families in Pinal County? English and Spanish speaking volunteer tax preparers are needed. We also seek volunteers to greet clients or administrate a site.

The VITA program prepares basic returns so you don’t have to be a tax expert to volunteer. Volunteers complete a free six session basic tax law course offered in December.

Please review the different available positions. If you have a talent to share, contact us. Submit an application via mail, fax or e-mail. Don’t forget to sign up for trainings.

Why be a VITA Volunteer?

VITA has many benefits to your personal development as well as the community.

Families benefit
The additional income you will be granting an EITC eligible family can be directed towards savings and education goals, debt reduction, medical expenses, and other important uses. In our previous year the value of this program was an average $1,200 per family.

Communities benefit
Research shows that for every $1 of EITC, almost $2.00 is generated for the local economy.

You benefit
You will be increasing your knowledge of tax law and meeting new people who share your values in community service. Volunteers may be eligible to earn Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) for participating.
